HUGRO® Chinchilla bath sand is made from Sepiolith.
The sand does not contain asbestos, verified by X-ray radiation. The individual particles are round and therefore gentle on fur and skin.
The sand is dried for 1-2 hours in hot air (up to 500 degrees) before packing. Due to this handling, HUGRO Chinchilla bath sand is sterile and the complete production process is microbiologically controlled. pepiolith is also used in food production.
